Hey everyone,

If we have any customer service reps in the house that work for Best Buy that could provide some assistance, I would very grateful. Here is a post that a friend sent over that is having problems with Best buy not keep their word. (four year warranty)

We got a call from the Best Buy camera fixer-uppers (Precision Camera) last night. They’re claiming that our (four year) warranty is now void because it is an external force damage. Apparently one of the pins in the USB port is bent. My Husband argued on the phone, with various people until darn near ten o’clock in the evening that our (four year) warranty covers normal “wear and tear.” They’re acting like I tossed the camera off the roof. If you know me with my camera, you know that’s simply not the case.

So, of course, Josh is arguing that downloading pictures off the camera (multiple times) every day by using the USB port is normal wear-and-tear. Some of the people he’s talked with are in agreement. Some are not. So we sit and wait while some office sitting, non-technologically inclined, suit wearing, arrogant man with the red pen decides whether or not our warranty, which we paid extra for, will be honored.

I just want my darn camera back, with working functions. We absolutely 100% cannot afford a new digital camera at this time. I’m heartbroken, angry that we were talked into buying a (four year) warranty that doesn’t do you any good if you actually, you know, use your camera.

Any advice?
