If you want to follow his footsteps become a broker for insitutional traders, if you own an company that clears and books them then you'll make bank but you'll have some slight competition from the likes of 3 guys named Goldman, Lehman and Morgan

i agree....that's a better objective...although, these positions are more competitive than getting a gig at some suburbian, mum and dad chop shop

thanks for the advice guys, but many financial analyst companies require university grades don't they? even though there not essential for the job.

A financial analyst position maybe, i dont know what company you would be talking about, maybe a ibank analyst and in that case yes you need a degree and a darn good one. You gotta give us a description of what it is your looking to do, since your jumping all over the place now, and not to sound rude but i dont think you have a solid grasp on how stock brokers are paid still.

i'm still learning all about this, but through my research i've found that trainee stock brokers get paid a basic salary EG. 25K per year + bonus and commissions, so it depends on how many clients i get and i sell. I'm honestly a little all over the place lol i have to admit, as the job is called a number of different things (as far as i know, stock broker, finacial analyst, stock dealer, stock trader, financial sales analyst etc etc.)

Well i think UNI will be beneficial but as its not a essential is there a way i could get offered the job with out the degree etc, as they train you up anyways.
