Hi,
Interesting read, i would say you are correct when looking at each point from a capitalists view

In my personal experience i can see why people say these things. People strive harder than others in different areas of life and having job satisfaction, a decent salary and time to enjoy life is worth more to them than striving to make as much money as they can. If you attach money to happiness you will always be trying to get more and more to appease that inner demon inside.
In saying this i work 60 -70 hours each week running a web hosting company with one of my best friends and i can say without a doubt that money isn't everything, i am happy when our customers are happy. The quality of life and freedom i get from my job is enough for me to strive to keep them happy. Would i like more money? Sure i would but that is a follow on effect of being successful and being successful at what i do is the goal, it's not obtain as much personal wealth as i can. Does money bring more problems? Well the more you have the more you spend and it really boils down to whether or not money will change you as person.
The question that i can raise from your article is, is it really us being selfish by wanting to be rich?
Would love to discuss this more with you!!
