Anyone have a blackberry/smart phone?

These seem pretty neat. But do you need to plug it into a laptop inorder to send an e-mail/access the internet?

I have a hp6515. Its really good has built in gps and also i bought a wifi sd card so i can log onto my email or internet with out plugging it in. You can easily sync everything from your computer to pda or vice versa.

So could I be in the car or at the mall and e-mail people? Or do I need to be at my house where my wireless internet connection is?

I have the Treo 700W which I really don't like. While you can email from anywhere it is constantly "freezing" and I have to re-set often. I hear the 600W is actually much better (and less expensive). I used to use a blackberry which I much preferred.
