Thumbs down Any Apple (Mac) Experts?

Hey guys...this is off topic but if you could offer any advice please do. My spacebar key broke on my Apple iBook laptop. I am having to use copy+paste to paste spaces between words now. Obviously this is really slowing my work down. I already popped the key in & out but no luck. Apple is trying to charge me $400+ sending my laptop out for weeks which is NOT AN OPTION!! Please help if you have any ideas... thanks.

I have taken Computer Repair Classes and you can ussually have luck by putting in a key from another laptop. Can you explain the situation? Is the thing which holds the key in place is broke or is the plastic key itself broke? If the plastic key itself is broke you may want to look here....

    Google

If the plastic key itself is not broke I suggest going to a authorized mac dealer / reseller and seeing if he could fix it for you. To fix a key should only be around $50-$100 if you have the key, We all know that computer repair market is a needed field and they get paid way more than they probably should.

If you know how to repair computers but need parts look here....

Please be avised that you should research the company before purchasing.

    Good Luck!
