Hey, I'm a 17 year old entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of an Arts and Entertainment company (Cyclone Arts). Me and my brother (19 year old co-founder and president) have been operating our business for about 19 months, and we've faced our share of set-backs and dissapointments, resulting in little financial gain in the past months. Our belief in our products (our hip hop t-shirts and upcoming innovative hip hop comic book) and our persistence has kept us going on our quest for riches. Also, we are currently partners with one of the biggest hip hop non-profit organizations in the nation (Hip hop Association),who we will donate 33% of our sales to, and a hip hop t-shirt e-commerce company (1 Soul Designs).
After developing our short-term goals and long-term goals, we are focused on what we want to achieve in business. Anyway, I've decided to publically announce our financial goal for March 2008 in order to guarentee my commitment to this goal.
We plan on making
$1,000 in revenues this month (which is more than we've made in all of the previous months combined). The following is the breakdown of our revenue sources:
-
Bulk t-shirt sales - We sell 10 shirts to 5 hip hop organization and get $15 in revenues per shirt = $750
-
1 Soul Designs partnership shirt sales - We sell 17 shirts through the company's online store and get $12 in revenues per shirt = $204
-
Cafepress.com store sales = We sell 3 shirts on our cafepress store and get $10 in revenues per shirt = $30
-
Affiliate sales - We will sell 4 affiliate products with an average revenue of $5 per product = $20
All of that equals $1,004 in revenues. For our expenses, we plan on spending $92. Below is a breakdown of our expenses:
- Webhosting = $12
- Labels (for packages) = $15
- Full page website adbrite ads = $30
- Biz cards = $15
- Payment to our blogger = $20
Our free promotion tactics include link exchanges, give out v=biz cards ar events, newsletter marketing, and Search Engine Optimization. Also, with our partnership with Hip Hop Association, we will have an ad in XXL and the Ave magazine that advertises them and our shirts.
With all that being said, I'm welcome to any tips for improvement, experience with guerilla marketing, and knowledge about advertising and networking, from anybody who has achieved a similar goal before in e-commerce.
Also, I encourage any other entrepreneurs to announce their goals for this month or short term goals for this year and be open to suggestions. We should also announce our progress in business to inspire other entrepreneurs who are on the road to riches. And post links to your websites, product images, and checks that you recieved from business.
