When building your brand, offline and online advertising is a must. On yellow pages, that depends about the type of business you are in and the scope of your business as well.

I would skip the yellow pages but offline advertising is still a very good form of marketing.

Some of the hottest trends in offline advertising seem to be:

    -Direct mail
    -Coupon initiatives
    -Free local magazines
    -Newspaper
    -Flyers

Also think about the advertising that was offline but is now mirrored online

i.e. the Yellow Pages has an awesome website that lets you list your business for free

or craigslist is a great form of old world classifieds

Though we're already in the digital world of Marketing and communications today, Old school Marketing still works with lots of wonders. These type of marketing channels should never be neglected nor under estimated.

    Great question.

When it comes to the yellow pages and print advertising, I believe that it still has its uses. It all depends on your target though. If you're targeting a younger crowd, chances are they aren't reading the newspaper or looking in the Yellow Pages.

They are online and on the go.

If you're targeting an older generation there are still a lot of people who read the newspaper, so advertising in print can still be effective.

    Bottom line: it depends
