Hey all,

As most of you know, I am a pretty experienced graphic designer.

And I am still expanding my portfolio before I put it online.

I need more jobs to do!

So I am offering the EXTREMELY low price of $15 per graphic for the next two days (ending October 29th at 11:59:59 PM lol)

That includes 3 revisions. Every revision past that will be $2 each.

Good luck with your sale. I would suggest however putting up 1 or 2 design you have done previously so people can have an idea of what you are making.

Rob designed three banners for me and I just sent him an order for four more. I can vouch for his work; he's reliable, fast and quality. Don't make false accusations without facts.

Again, I do not have a portfolio.

That is why I am offering such low prices.

Many people on here have had graphics made by me before. What happened to the graphics? Lost in space on my computer and I couldnt find it before I got my new laptop.

I was looking through your old posts (because I like to research who I'm sending $$ and work to) and this seems to be an ongoing theme for you! "build my portfolio, 80% off logo design" lost my old work on old computer etc......whats the deal man?

I think it would help if you showed some former work or a web site you finished...

The last time I did this, I only got a few responses. What happened to them? I don't know.

If you think I'm saying this because I dont want to post my work, that is far from the truth. If I had my work to post, I would definitely do it. There are a plethora of people on this site that have had graphic designs done by me. I have been a member here for a LONG time.

No, you have it backwards my friend. First you create, then you show, then you get orders. Any designer that wants jobs has at least a few samples of work he's done.

This is true, make some stuff for yourself first or enter some logo contests and things of that nature. You doing this not only makes you look semi amateur but it also hurts the designer community which you are trying to break into.

because charging 15 bucks for graphic design makes all of us look horrible!

We are quality full time career workers just like any lawyer , marketer or doctor. We do not deserve to have our profession trampled on by lowly kids who think design is fun and charge 10 bucks for something that should be much higher. They should get an internship somewhere if they want to build their portfolio.

I am harsh because I was once in this position and did the same stuff these people are doing. I regret it because I had a whole year of cheap labor. It was not until I worked for a professional company and did some networking locally before I got higher paying clients. Gotta do your homework and use those networking skills to land your first few clients and get some work to show.

And yes, I am sure its not helping me but I come to this forum to learn how to run a small business not to gain clients. I learned the hard way that this is what this forum is for. I know people will reply with a little "thats so mean" stuff in my pm box but no loss to me just giving my honest opinion which is what this forum needs.

You don't come here to gain clients? Why did you make a thread being angry about someone spamming you which you first assumed the message was a new client for you? No fibbing allowed.

The nice thing about the internet is that its a free market, it's something we're all going to have to get used to. If you think its bad now wait until even more freelancers from India get on the internet little by little - in 30 years competition will be stiff as a board. I do some freelance writing and marketing service work as well on the side and there's a lot of competition in it, so I know how you feel. People charging low prices for graphic design doesn't make you look bad at all. In the end the cliche motto is always: you get what you pay for.

If I were you I would change your game plan. The vast majority of the youngsters here (95%) are learning to make money, they just don't have $200+ to plop down on a professional logo.

Don't get me wrong, I think your work is really good and from what I've seen on your website it looks to be worth every penny. I just think the way you conduct yourself towards competitive designers is unprofessional and negative - it does your more image more harm than good.

My tip for you if you want it: Build links and produce content related to graphic design that targets local searches and local businesses that are looking to pay for a real, professional presence. For instance, there's 95 people a day who search google for "graphic design martinsburg" and only 57k competing pages which is absurdly low.
