We had netfirms for a while. Yikes, but it is more along the lines of a base service. We outgrew them fairly fast. But I couldn't use them even for a small site.

As for Domains, I absolutely love GoDaddy.

Shop Software, we've had no problems with OsCommerce and like it quite a bit.

There has been alot of bad press regarding registerfly and their internal dealings. To my understand, ICANN has recently terminated their contract (if you can call it taht) with registerfly, which means they are no longer domain registrars.

Stay away from RegisterFly!!! They are still processing about $20,000 per day in new orders, and not fulfilling any of them. Additionally, folks who already had their domains registered there are not able to transfer them away.

Head over to Namepros if you would like more info.

As far as Yahoo! goes, yes it may seem pricey, but your buying from a very reputable webhost company that has fantastic tools like the sitebuilder program that is user friendly and makes building websites easy for even the amateur webmaster. You can even download there sitebuilder program and practice building your website without even making a purchase.

When considering which host to use, think about how great there customer service and tech support is, especially if you going to sell products online, and how much downtime if any they have, how much traffic your package can support, how easy it will be to build your website using there website builder program, is the domain included, and how good is there merchant products and tools.

these two were good, but if you ask me to choose, maybe I would go for GoDaddy.

By the way, I am offering hosting at http://www.webhostingwebhost.com . (Yes, this is an ad. However, I don't think Yahoo! or GoDaddy are great choices for hosting.) If you are in the market for hosting, let me know, and I can configure a custom package for you.

Yahoo vs GoDaddy
Today is 7/12/08 and I've been with Yahoo Business account since Sept 2005. I just signed up with GoDaddy last month and here's my comparison.

Yahoo Pros:
-Easy to use
-Unlimited email storage space
-Has many tools to help the non-programmer get website up and running.

Yahoo Cons:
-Everytime I call customer service my blood pressure goes up.
-Customer service representatives have very little technical skills. By talking to them, you can tell that they are reading from scripted answers.
-Wait time for customer service representative to pickup the phone average about 20 minutes (I'm not kidding here).

GoDaddy Pros:
-Customer service, customer service, customer service ... did I say customer service?
-All the customer service representatives are AMERICANS!!! I call them on weekends, I called them in the middle of the night and I always get clear american accent represetatives.
-Representatives are technically knowledgable and very very friendly and supportive.
-The message on the phone saids average wait time is 2 minutes everytime I called, but the representatives normally pickup the phone prior to the 2 minutes mark (yes, I timed them).
-cheap

GoDaddy Cons:
-cheap as in they made themselves look very cheap with all the advertisements when you log in. If you go to godaddy.com, all of those adverstisements are embedded into the admin accounts too!! They advertise even when I tried to work on my account.
-email accounts are limited to only 100mb when you signup. I signup with the delux account and they gave me 5 credits which amount to 500mb (oh and the 500mb are broken up into 100mb each .. you cannot combine the accounts together to get one big account). This is a problem for me because I keep all of my emails for tracking purposes (yes I know I can download to Outlooks). With Yahoo unlimited email storage, I never thought about email account size. GoDaddy wants you to BUY!!! email accounts with your hosting plan. Outragous!! They charge you base on email account size.
-Very little tools to help a non-programmer to build website.

The email size limitation issue from GoDaddy makes me wonder what else they want to charge me. They are nickle and dime you. At this point I'm half want to drop GoDaddy and look else where, but the other half love the customer service and want to stay. We'll see how I fair next month.

Does anyone have a GoDaddy store they have running that I can take a look at?

:::Never Mind, I saw one:::

My recommendation is Volusion.com.....I personally use them and love em. I used a Yahoo store for about 2 weeks before I hated my site and their software.
