    Website Feedback

I just found this site, its great to see other people in my position and be able to talk and bounce ideas off each other. I hope to get involved in the community!

So to start, I would like to ask for some advice on my website, http://www.psihost.com/ as you can see by the URL, this is version 4.5, so I have had a lot of time to do and re-do it.

I would appreciate any comments you have on the style, layout etc. I find that visitors come and look around and then leave, fairly typical and I guess they are just shopping around.

    Thank you for your feedback

    Hi PSI,

I don't want to get you down, however, everything looks like clip art and the design really resembles 1997.

I'm not trying to be mean at all, so please don't take it that way.

Every year, we at www.metroterra.com get involved with the May 1st Reboot sponsored by www.threeoh.com as a way of freshening up our site and getting some free exposure at the same time. They are a design community, but the best part is that you can find "the cutting edge" of web design there.

A couple other sites that are noteworthy are as follows:
    www.surfstation.lu
    www.linkdup.com

These sites will provide you with hours of design goodness and in a business like yours, every ounce of creativity and marketing finess helps. It's just to competitive. Especially in your case, look at the masters, (mt) www.mediatemple.com.

I hope this helps and doesn't offend. I have been working the online thing for more than a decade and only making money in it four the past for years, if that means anything.

    All the best,
    Red

I'll agree with you I had a few sites previously which had a more modern look. The problem is 80% of my business is from my happy clients telling their unhappy friends about me. Truth be told they were unhappy because of user error with their previous host. When they (the computer-challenged) complained about the site I had to and go back to the more table based layout

I am working on a secondary site which will be more tech oriented, and hopefully I can come up with a creative layout. I will most defiantly be looking of your site in a month Thank you.

EDIT: BTW the images are from the Crystal Clear icon set, which is one of the most popular sets for one of the LINUX GUIs.

I honestly think the site looks fine. What makes it unique is that it does not look like other hosting sites!

Make sure your homepage has a call to action. It should have some big "Sign Up" button or "Call Us Now At .......".

    Yes. t i m f r i e [at] c o m c a s t . n e t. He has designed a few sites for me now, and I've been very impressed with his work!

EDIT: On second thought, I realize you probably mean logo designer! In that case, I recommend http://www.yoggin.com, who designed the logo for my iZoka site.

Hi psipro its me again, , as far as your website I am stuck between two sides of the discussion.

For one as a prospective and average web buyer would do, All i want to see is how many MB's and GB's and uptime, and prices in big flashy numbers saying buy now. If you can achieve that, you will sell easily to a lot of people who just want to click on the "Easy" button and buy. This statement is to agree with those who say the site seems plain and not too aesthetically pleasing to the eye, or the common viewers eye rather.

On the other hand, your site does stand out as it isn't all full of flash logos, and designs, there isn't a lot of crap going on all over the site which is good too. I think this will sell to a smaller percentage of people vs. the above strategy.

I did go through the site and I noticed a typo or so, on one of your main headings where it said buisness.

Last thing which has already been addressed I guess is your logo, maybe it is just me, but the P isn't definitive and the overall logo could probably use some work.

Besides all that, good job, and I know you have great programming /back end expertise, I may have to call you sooner or later who knows. when you get a chance do some constructive criticism on my site when you get a chance, http://www.3cwired.com
