^ get wordpress. Your wasting your time on blogspot imo. Your competition is using wordpress, and its not expensive. 50.00 for a good theme, a few hundred to get someone to make it look right, and about 30 a year for hosting..

Not bad as a starter, just continue to provide good contents on your chosen niche.

You need to learn search engine optimization to get traffic to your blog/site

If you think it will take a lot of time and effort then i would suggest you to hire some freelancer to do this for you

    or

You can just use Google Adwords program and get some clicks for your blog/site

LOL. Wow, Jill. This is the typical spammer profile. I hope you're not the one checking out my blogs everyday and leaving these type of messages.

If this is a coincidence and you're really serious then I'd suggest you change up your commenting style because this will only make you end up in the spam folder of most Wordpress blogs that have Akismet enabled. Plus it's bad for business (if you're serious about that).

    On topic...

I agree that you should use blogger for practice if that's what you're trying to do. If you're going to put more effort into it then I'd suggest you get a domain name and hosting, install Wordpress and use that.

I usually encourage people if they want to get a hang of blogging, then see if your name is available as a domain name and purchase it, then blog from that. Doesn't matter if you're the worst blogger in the world, if you're serious about learning what you need to know, you'll get better.

March 16th was your last post?. Your going to have to post a lot more frequently than that if you expect to get anywhere.

    A few things here,

    1. Blogger is very capable hosting. It gives you the option to buy a domain name if you want. I plan on buying a domain name as soon as I develop at least 25 posts and some traffic. I think it is a great way to start and build a base before you delve into something. Blogger allows you to create pages, customize the template, and I have found that it is much easier to navigate than wordpress.

    2. I have read a ton on building blog traffic.

--The first thing you need to do is write at least 25 posts, so you actually have some content to present your readers.
--Second, I would add a link to your social media sites such as facebook and twitter. Plus put a link in the signature on your forums and for your email. You will be amazed how much that will help.
--Third, I think people usually forget this step; but you should talk to your friends and family about your blog. Show them through your discussion what you will be writing about.
--The fourth things I would do is to get a domain name. This is where you have 25 posts at least, you have set up social media links, and you have talked to the people you talked to the most. At this point you will have the practice down. You should have between 20-50 vistors a day by this point from what I have experienced.

That is the way to start a blog in my opinion. Once I have the domain name, I am going to submit my blog to directories and carnivals. I always research SEO, and most importantly I just want to keep putting out solid content for my readers.

Most of it is about being consistent. My dad doesn't have his own domain, but he has 300 articles of content and he writes good articles on theology and fitness. My dad gets around 200 page views a day without even his own domain. So just put out good content and the readers will come eventually.
