    Online advertisement limitations

    Hello

I building my own site to cut cost but my idea is tied into using other companies logos.

My business will be dealing with after market parts for various cars.

Is there any legal issues I need to overcome before using car makes logos for advertisement on my site? Or should I scrap that idea?

    Thanks!

Yes... you can not use their logos with out express written permission.

I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice

I'm not sure where adwords applies to the topic. Maybe I don't see where your coming from.

    Let me explain more..
I just want to add a car make logo graphic image in the background of my web site just for aesthetics. not for adword purposes.

So the first reply I received from "rogercbryan" was more on point

Hey thanks for your time you put in passing knowledge!

When you say "express written permission"
I'm guessing I'd have to contact the car companies them selfs for this permission...right?

Now i believe you, & most likely will can that idea.
Where could I find this rule of not using car manufacture logos for advertisement?
After writing that out and thinking about it. I'm going to guess its copyrights of the company right??

My questions my be ridiculous but, i need everything black and white. I'm very nervous about slipping legally.

    Thanks again!

The OP is right. I have no idea wtf you're talking about in relationship to his post. Adwords isn't crap for most internet based industries. No idea what you're talking about. As for competition, it depends. There is no finite rule to business and it should never be treated as such.

adwords helps promote your site on Google search...so when a googler types a word affiliated with your company, the higher on Google you'll be

so if i have a small company for Chevy parts..ill be wasting time obtaining "Chevy" for an adword on google. first chevy and sub companies will dominate the Google list, then other chevy parts businesses that have been around longer...so in a very unique specific business adwords maybe a good idea.

i think he was thinking i wanted car manufacture names on my sight...for internet search promotion. im also guessing its a mix up between his misunderstanding and maybe a little grudge he has against adword..and jump on an ocation to vent..haha

You can type in adword in wiki and learn about it..very interesting stuff. i love reading about google. such a great company with many programs..adword is scratching the surface.

i would like to give thanks for taking part on this topic!
