Which do you think has the highest chance of being profitable, an e-commerce website or an information website such as a blog which generates revenue with ads?
thats a very broad question
do you have capital?
what do you consider successful?
what are your goals?
I know that with enough capital you could have a successful ecommerce site no problem. So say you were starting with very little capital. By successful, like I said, I mean profitable and by profitable, I mean, well, generating more revenue than expenses (I consider time an expense) as that is the definition of profit. Many businesses fail very soon after they come into existence so allow me to rephrase my question. Which type of website is less likely to fail, ecommerce or information?
I think your best bet is to create an informational site with an e-commerce section to promote the products you desire.
You could be succesful with either type though, it all depends on your approach. Figure out what you are good at, find your target market and work from there.
I dont think simply throwing money at a project will make it any more succesful. Plan your execution, figure the different ways you could generate revenue.
If you have more specific information, there are a lot of people on here that could better advise you.
