First rule, you should not be spamming, members must have opted for your mailing and they must have the option to opt out.

Second rule, use a script that can batch process and take the address off list that are incative.

Another great way to learn about email marketing is to sign up to one of the big email marketing management companies and see what they deem important. Test/use their tools and learn.

The two major ones that come to mind are:

-Constant Contact (has a 60 day free trial going on now I think)

-Mail Chimp (its free!)
