Hi Dale, great post! I value long-term investments more than short-term and get-it-done-fast schemes that often produce short-lived results. i've also read in some pro-bloggers' blogs that organic traffic are the ones that stay. traffic from short-term strategies are bouncy and fleeting. you won't benefit much from them.

Amen Dale. Traffic momentum is a patience and long-term process. I have found partnering with a CPA network as an advertiser has helped out quite a bit but has been expensive. Although it helps with traffic.

I also love speaking to folks in the forums and blogs. I try and answer a lot of legal questions given I am a business and grant attorney, as well as an entrepreneur. I know what it's like to first start out a traditional business, as well as an online business informational company. Can be overwhelming at times. I know what it's like to make tons of mistakes, although I have learned from them, and wonder, will I ever make it. First living paycheck to paycheck, praying and asking the universe to help. If you ever felt like this ... well, welcome to the collective. It is a normal process and feeling. But hang in there, it will work. Patience and overall drive will win in the end.

This is why I have published a free 60 page entrepreneur guide to assist. It has been recommended and endorsed by a number of government agencies. Wow, this is powerful in and of itself. We all know that government never endorses and recommends anything as to for-profit companies. Even Secretaries of States have endorsed and posted on their business incorporation/formation sites. Check it out if interested.

As to internet marketing and driving traffic, I have also set forth a business marketing product that has been recommended as well, including looking for grant money (see below). This is legitimate and well, recommended too. So, check it out.

Thanks again for the awesome article. Self-employed as well. I know what it is like to set your own schedule. However, I must admit, I think at times I am a work-alcoholic. But, if I didn't enjoy it, wouldn't be doing it.

Keep up the helpful tips. It is all a process that adds up long-term.

    Hi,

While trying to generate traffic, you must realize that it can't happen overnight. No way. Fast solutions usually don't work, you need time to prepare. You need to take the time, and make the effort to be able to generate traffic to your site, and you know what else? You have to be smart about it. Make a plan, and follow it. Don't walk away the second you feel frustrated, or if you feel like you aren't reaping any benefits. Like everything else, this too, being able to generate traffic, too, takes time.

I have seen people talk about free classifieds and directories with little or no traffic at all, ..it does help a bit to increase your traffic temporarily and maybe your ranking (not by much, though), however, the real yardstick to measure your traffic is 'conversion'. If you can target your advertising campaigns in 'your industry' rather than posting in all possible free directories and classifieds, you are guaranteed of better conversions...So, more focused you are, the better is your bottom line

    Dear Dale

This sounds really good. Perhaps you can give me some advice

I sell a legal service and books on my website. Selling 2 or 3 memberships per week will create significant income.

Recently I have been hanging around forums and it has increased my traffic to about 15 unique visitors per day. My goal is to get over 50 per day.

My question is where do I submit my content get more exposure for my website?

    Hi,

Nowadays there are a lot of social networking sites coming up. Examples are MySpace, Facebook and Friendster. These social networking sites have millions of people visiting them every day and if we can tap on these sites, we will be generating tons of free traffic to our site and as well generate network marketing leads.
