    You can

    Hello,

You can write up small articles and make a bio
at the end leading back to your site. Then,
submit them to article directories like:

    ezinearticles.com

You can also send your articles to websites
having to do with your topic for content or
    for inclusion in their newsletters.

Maybe you can consider mass e-mailing your friends for awareness? Or mention it in your blog?

    Great thread,

From reading the above, I think forums are a great ways to get free traffic to your site. Traffic is the lifeblood of online business. There are many unique traffic-building techniques available to online businesses. The key is to attract visitors as many as possible. How to get traffic to your site is a primary concern among online businesses. The more traffic you drive to your site, the more customers who can buy your products or the more clients that can hire your offer. Regardless, of the makeup of your company, there is no such thing as too much traffic.

Actually, not to get carried away, TARGETED traffic is the key. Traffic that isn't targeted won't convert so it's not really worth pursuing. If you do foster loads of junk traffic you can eventually drive up your hosting costs without improving your sales and that's definitely not what anyone wants.

    Generating Web Traffic

What I think is Link Exchanges are a fantastic way to increase web traffic, and the benefits are two-fold. Not only do you get traffic from the linking website, you also get the added benefit of better search engine placement with every link that is pointing to your site.

I would suggest that the quickest (and easiest) way is to post on forums with a backlink to your site, make sure that the forums are relevant and popular though.

    Generating Web Traffic

Traffic generation has changed over the years. As always, the more traffic, the better. Web site traffic generation is probably the most important thing you can do for your Web site or Internet Web business.

I do not believe you can simply rely on one method of traffic generation no matter how good that method of traffic generation is.

For me the best way to generate traffic on my page was by having a ppc campaign, though I've also been doing some email marketing which has also improved the traffic a bit.

8 ways to draw in traffice - take your pick!

    Hi Aggregate,

In my travels i have been able to condense down the marketing strategies online at present - get at least 3-4 of these strategies up and work on them continually and you will draw more traffic to your site that possible...but it does take work

    Short Term Marketing strategies:

    PPC Marketing (pay per click)
    Blogging
Forum Marketing (what we are doing now)
    Ebay
    Social Bookmarking (myspace etc)
    Classified Ads (check out craigslist.com)
    Traffic Exchanges (banners, affiliates etc)

    Long term traffic strategies:

Buying Traffic (dont really reccommend this though)
    Article Marketing
Direct Linking (leaving your link on other forums and websites)
    RSS Feed

    All the best!

    Sage

I'd add videos to that list, it has happened to be a successful tool for me. It was something suggested by it'sclickzilla. They're doing my ppc campaign which is how I'm basically getting most of the traffic though I've seen good results using videos.
