hey guys - does any one have experience with both - i want to know what makes more money for marketing forums or blogs usually

If you are in a specific niche both of them can be as good as one another,what niche had you been looking at to open up a site as if you give us some indication you will get some good advice i am sure.

When you have value to add, a blog is the best way to go. Blogs are used to establish and create credibility, while forums can be used for many other purposes. Forums are much more engaging, though.

Forums can be a lot of work to police/moderate, in my opinion. You will always get the occasional trouble maker who decides to insult every other user and generally wreak havoc. As well, an unused forum can give the impression that your site has no traffic and worse, that your business itself is stagnant. The other problem is that if you are just starting to establish yourself and your web prescence, with a forum you are really opening the door to your competitors to come and advertise their expertise and know-how on your site.

We recently acquired a client whose existing Web site has a forum that hadn't been used in years. It was also a bad fit for the type of business. Some businesses just shouldn't have community forums. We advised them to remove the forum and start with a newsletter e-blast and a blog.

A blog will still allow engagement from others, it will just help you to control the topics of discussion and will be easier for you in the short term to police. Spam comments can be more easily controlled thorugh plugins like Akismet.

Forum is really a lot of work. Is very difficult to increase users, and if you start from nothing you really needs content that attracts people. If users see that there is no other users, they will simply not use it. Only early adapters will go there.

For a blog that is much easier as you control how the user views it. Also is much easier to add content and to keep it active, you just need the drive from yourself, where in forums you need drives from many users to make it active.

Well both have their exceptional individual advantages but blogs in my opinion is better than forums.

Forum and blog are both advisable to get some traffic. I think these two strategies are one of the best ways to make more money. Just post useful and knowledgeable information to make your post will be productive.

Both are good, but blogs I think are much easier to manage and are more versatile.

I always prefer blogs for earning more money as they are quite simple as compare to forums. Forums are complexed bcoz of the moderation and faq policies on the other hand blogs are simple and easy there is no need of moderation etc. Blogs can earn alot of traffic with some posts on the other hand it takes to much time to make a forum so the chances to earn with the blog is more than the forum. So i like blog more.

In using blogs, you can post reviews of what you are marketing. In forums, you can reach to people looking for that product.
