anyone owns b2b directory or similar site? I have a question

I want to create one, imagine alibaba for example. But I probably should not charge for listing at first (new site an all), but if I make listing free it will be flooded with crappy/fake listings. How do I go about that? 100% free is not good because I will lose any quality of the site, but on the other hand paid listings not good as well - not many will advertise on new site.. Advice please

People love free, but they also like to feel secure. Meaning when they put their information or their companies information in your site they wont be spammed, or the information wont be leaked.

Your going to need moderators and standards for the site to start off with, and then go from there.

I own a free Internet directory, I think we have so much free sites nowadays that starting to charge on something is out of the question.

You can crage and you can charge premium if you have site that generates real b2b leads. And what kind of directory is yours? Is it b2b where serious companies list their buy/sell leads/products or just any not specificly b2b directory that is owned by every second kid on digital point? I am not talking about those, I am talking about serious b2b directory.
