    Accepting Payments

I recently had an idea for an online business with minimal startup costs I'd like to pursue. My problem is that I would need a website for the business and I'd need to accept payments online. I don't know how to do either of these things yet.

I think I could set it up to use paypal no problem, but I would like to be able to accept debit and credit cards as well. I'm not 100% sure, but isn't there also a fee involved in accepting credit cards? If so maybe I should try to use paypal, at least until I know if it will be profitable or not.

Also, are there any resources you can suggest that may help with setting up a small website?

Any help with these questions would be appreciated!

phoenixb90, if you're not a web site programmer you can find one easy enough. There are plenty of online businesses happy to design one for you -- really just depends on your budget. They'd also be able to implement your PayPal payment acceptance as well.
Yes, there are fees for accepting cc's and debit cards - all merchants pay them (e-commerce and brick and mortar).
Do you have a budget in mind?

    Have you checked out Webs.com?

I am not sure if you have already designed a website but you can set up one for free on there. You can select a template and add applications as well.

They have an Shopping Cart application that is free for up to five products I believe and all you have to do is enter in your Paypal email address. I believe they also have an option for Google Checkout in the same way.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

As a starter, i would suggest you to begin with PayPal

they have more then 20 million users worldwide and the best part is its easy to use and integrate into your website

PayPal is free to use and they charge a very nominal fee on the name of service charges ...
