Blogger is owned by Google. Your blog will get indexed fasted with blogger vs WordPress. However, you are pretty limited with what you can do with blogger (but it gets the job done - blogging). As new wave stated, WordPress is for "pros"....while not totally unattainable to a newcomer, there are TONS of features that are way over my head and would go unused.

    Blogger or worldpress?

Wordpress is the best. Its mostly use for blogging purpose. Blogger is also good but there are many limitations in this blogging platform. Like Limited Flexibility, not self hosted, Widgets and plugins are harder to add in blogger, etc. Whereas WordPress is a very creative common platform giving awesome services and its SEO Friendly also.

Wordpress is the best, because you make your site look anyway you want it. A store, a blog anything. There ae also hundreds of plugins that you can use to make your site almost run on it's own. Blogger is very limited, but as someone said it will get indexed very quickly.

Wordpress is called the King of Content Management Systems by many. And for a good reason.
The possibilities are almost endless with plugins, themes and some coding-skills.

Wordpress can get a bit messy quickly. Many people end up using 20+ Plugins or more just because they can.
That increases complexity and makes things harder. Especially for the people who are new to blogging.
It is also not always the case that every plugin works with every theme or vice versa.
Same problem if you want different plugins to work hand in hand.

Blogger on the other hand is much simpler.
That means the things you can achieve with blogger have a certain limit.
But also the time you need to get used to everything and get your content out there is shorter.

The choice you make here depends a lot on what you want to achieve.
I would agree to new wave's

    Blogger is for hobbies.
    Wordpress if for pros.
If you want to do a project professionally go for Wordpress.
However be prepared to take some time for getting used to everything.
wpbeginner.com offers you a good start.

Blogger is a good quick alternative for smaller projects.
E.g. a travel-blog is often done using blogger.

    As for the indexing:
You just have to find a way to pass the sitemap of your blog to google to speed this process up.
And of course Wordpress offers some plugins for that.

    Wish you luck!

It depends on what you are doing and trying to accomplish. Having used both myself (originally blogger and now using the self-hosted Wordpress), I share the opinions of most people here.

To give you something of more substance, if you are looking to bootleg your own SEO with your blog, you will want a self-hosted blog. Otherwise, you are only helping the SEO of the hosted site. Using a self-hosted site can give you more flexibility and customization, but it comes at the potential risk of taking more time to do so. That said, if you want to monetize the site, I've been told that you will get a lot more (and a lot easier) via a self-hosted blog.

Best thing to do is experiment and get an idea for yourself.

I love Wordpress! It has better themes and plugins. Wordpress does lots of updations and brings many things to make its usage easy. I am not sure, but even as SEO purpose I find Wordpress blogs on better ranks than Blogger.

wordpress, but not the free sites.

You can blog on free platforms, and it's common that you make about that too, zero.

I'd rather make money blogging, it's pretty easy once you understand the system

This is so true! I have blogs on both sites and I don't have my own domain. I use Blogger for my "personal" blogging and WordPress for more "serious" kind of posts.

I do prefer Blogger most since it has feats to use Google Analytics in a really quick manner. WordPress, as far as I know, doesn't connect to Google Analytics now that they have their own way of seeing "Stats" for your blog.
