I would like to add that some people might start off with proxy sites, blogs, ect. as a way to test the waters or build income for bigger projects. I started off by developing websites for local small companies so that I could raise money to launch my big idea, Underground Media. It will be a while before the company can support itself so I have to continue developing websites for now.

By the way, I just completed a major update to Underground Media and started a thread requesting feedback. You can visit the site here. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I completely agree with this. It’s so easy to start a business online nowadays and some would even jump right at it without thorough research and preparation.

Not because others made it big, you can too.

You need to innovate in order to get noticed in this industry.

I agree with all of you. The thing that I have found starting my own business is that sometimes you don't alaways follow the route that you traced for your self when you starting. And venturing off the road is what makes running a business fun. However, unless you start with an innovative idea, something that most people aren't doing you will not see the oppurtunity to run off the road and take a different way.

I've been doing a lot of reading on the YE forums over the past few weeks, and I see a recurring theme in the types of businesses MANY (not all, maybe not even a majority, but a huge amount) people have been choosing to launch. Tons of people are starting proxy sites monetized by adsense links..

INTERNET AFFILIATE MARKETING Is DROPPING LIKE A ROCK

    Interesting,

Having read through this thread, it is amazing how things are changing from when it was first posted several years ago. The internet is a fast moving target which is always changing, and unless you change with it, you will not make a dime on line, never mind you will waste all your valuable time. What worked yesterday does not mean it will work tomorrow when it comes to marketing. Affiliate marketing has been played out, as well as using Google Adsense and Adwords to promote all these worthess programs. Just watching all the so called affiliate marketing guru's sell the same old same old dream of get rich quick is getting so tired I don't even research or evaluate them any longer. It is all BS, pure and simple.

Happy Healthy Wealthy New Year to all,

    Great post, thanks brother!

couldn't agree more, if you take note of any successful person you'll notice how hard they work, no matter if they're already rich or famous or what. From professional fighters, to actors, to musicians to business owners. Hard work is the key, and even with passive sites one would need to put in the work to get it traffic, get it ranked, etc...but creating a product or service is definitely more sustainable and makes sense for those that want long term success.
