    My Lastest Venture

As you know, I've been speaking a great deal about my upcoming for profit, religious media company to be launched January 2008.

It's a project that was birthed from where I and a close friend of mine personally witnessed a substantial lack of sound Biblical teaching in the mainstream Christian community [the problem]. So, I begin to plan and research putting together two websites [to be revealed later] that would serve as highly informative resources for communicating various Biblical principles for spiritual development and responding to the Fundamentalist agenda [aka 'heresy hunters' and/or 'discernment ministries'] to discredit the Word of Faith Doctrine/Theology [the solution].

In planning, I also began to research feasible methods of monetizing the venture simply because of the demand I anticipate the venture to have on my partner and I in terms of time and monetary resources. This new 'monetization strategy' I am developing would be a far more efficient, effective way to perpetually fund the operations of the venture than resorting to traditional religious fundraising attempts [primarily the solicitation of donations].

I thought I would post this bit of information for anyone who had any questions or concerns about my lastest posts, particularly in the General Internet threads.

I've considered starting my own religion, actually. To me it sounds crass for a guy to try and make money off faith. I realize that unless you created a Christian denomination of your own that traditional methods of raising funds would not work. I'd like you to keep us updated with what you come up with.

I'm the type of guy who is highly suspicious of the smooth televangelist who wears Italian suits and drives a Mercedes, and he goes in that gold colored studio and says with a straight face that the sheep will be punished by God unless they give their government retirement checks to fund his next purchase.

Although most of my family, all government employees, equate business with evil, and say that only "false churches" try to make money off the flock, I see that as disgust with traditional fund raising measures. Clearly, something else is needed. I'm working on something else right now so I don't have time to devote to this. Let us know what your solution is.

sounds a bit *yawn* to me. Religion is boring, so why would people want to visit a site to learn about it?

    I understand your views.

Yes, a new approach to funding the operations of a religious organization that contributes to the overall well being of individuals is what is needed. I recognized that need some time ago. Thusly, I've been working to develop a comprehensive monetization strategy for this venture that would avoid traditional religious fundraising methods.

This venture will be able to provide the masses with edifying resources of information without the need to sell it as a tangible product. We will be able to perpetually fund the operations WITHOUT selling products or soliciting for donations - both of which I deem as inefficient, 'Industrial-age' practices.

This isn't a site to 'learn' about religion.

And how doesn it sound 'a bit *yawn*' to you? I haven't even explained what the site is about.

Look, I respect your faith etc but to me it feels like alot of effort to put into it. Religion is dieing... the trends are against you. It just feels a little... boring? idk you do it im not telling you now too, you do what you want.

Im hardly making sense right now, so excuse this excuse for a post. Im really tired.

I understand completely that you're saying. However, I am asking you how do you come to the conclusion that the venture is 'boring' when I haven't even explained what it is?

Okay, you haven't give details.. but I'm assuming it will be a website to educate people about the bible and your faith etc etc.

    It just seems... old school.

what do you have to support this claim? it depends on the religion. You cannot generalise it all.
