I've yet to see any hosting too good to be true. They're dime a dozen. I would stay away from the off the wall companies. They can come and go at any time. Just use one of the bigger name companies. This way you'll know they're still going to be around in 6 months. They're like $4.95 a month and cheaper if you pay for 12 months up front.

It's very difficult to believe anybody these days so it's better to go with established ones.

I've had fairly good experiences with GoDaddy for informational and lite app websites. They have shared hosting available at very low cost. They are reliable, and have 24/7 support...that I've used plenty of times.

Although I have put all my eggs in a single basket, to GoDaddy but frankly speaking I am not satisfied with their Customer Support.

Lunarpages.com for shared hosting and Wiredtree.com for VPS and dedicated servers. These are the two I have personally used without any complaints or issues. Both are established and not fly by nights

I use GoDaddy for our domain names.... never any luck with their hosting or other services.
