Amen, amen, and amen! Well put MpyreDzirez. I would also add a fourth, and later step, of amember, as membership sites are a great way to get a solid, consistant stream of income once you have a list base you can leverage!

I would have to say an html editor for building landing pages. Without that you wouldn't have anywhere to send visitors. You won't be able to put up squeeze pages to collect name and email. Very much agree with MpreDzirez but nvu should be #1.

Wow, this thread was gone for a while...but the fact remains that an autoresponder is priceless when it comes to affiliate marketing. And I just wanted to post recent findings on this. I decided to try GetResponse as opposed to aWeber which is what I have been using for a while, and was thoroughly disappointed! It was slow, not nearly as easy to use as aWeber, and just a waste of time...stick with aWeber!

Nice to hear that you prefer aweber. I have never really used an autoresponder. It don't bother emailing as I find that some people find it annoying. But if you build your own opt in list, then autoresponders are good I guess.

    Hi John238,
Some people do find emails annoying, but those emails are usually spam. I personally can't wait for some of my daily emails...Like TechCrunch, Joe Lavery, and Mike Mazzella from Lightning Giveaway.

I used to think I was smarter then everyone else also. It's in the nature of us being young entrepreneurs. We would not be entrepreneurs if we did not think we could do things better then others (bosses).

If the secret to building your own fortunes is to break down millionaires and find out what they have in common. Then take a look at Dan Kennedy, Mark Joyner, Joe Vitale, Guy Kawasaki, Brian Tracy, Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, John Reese, Russell Brunson, Brad Fallon, and Tellman Knudson they all have gigantosaur email lists.

Anyone of them could practically melt our servers with just one email blast to their list.

I don't want to start an argument or anything here, just never heard someone say that list building is not needed. You almost even said not to do it...I'd like to know more about what you have found that says we don't need list building so much.

Html editor with built-in ftp for uploading pages to your website.
NVu.com or Kompozer to start with. I still like Frontpage 2003 even though it has been discontinued by Microsoft.

Smart followup autoresponder service or your own script.
    UltimateAutoresponderPro on sale for $47

$7 secrets script to get started with or something to sell.

The best keyword research tool you can find... And I've found it!

    adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

They now give out Raw data ( real numbers)

It just doesn't get any better than this
