What is an affiliate program/business?

Hi,

I am new to the forum and I was just wondering what an affiliate program/business is? I was looking on this site that I read about in another post called, http://www.clickbank.com/index.html. Is this site legit?

an affiliate program is an opportunity for you to make commissions from a company by selling their products/services. When you signup as an affiliate you are considered an independent contractor and will receive a 1099 instead of a W2 from them at the end of the year.

most programs are pretty straight forward and pretty similar. The major differences between them are the amounts you get paid and the products/services you are selling.

Its an easy way for a company to decrease their marketing budget and payroll associated with marketing, and just pay performance based commissions (which the company isn't responsible for paying employment taxes on) to their affiliates.

Check the site in my signature that says "The Best Affiliate Marketing Program On The Web"

As you can see, your home page is basically an organized directory of products that you are affiliated with.

Whenever someone visits your home page and clicks on a link to learn more about one of the products, they will be re-directed to a sales page for that product.

When someone buys one of the products after clicking a link on your home page, you will receive a commission for the sale. :-)

Let me tell you, after only 6 months in this business, and with no prior computer experience, I can say that I've found a way to earn an income right from my home, even while sleep. And you know what? It will never stop!
