That doesn't seem to mesh with your preexisting business model. Why would you clutter it (your website) with ads?

Just focus on the selling , there is really no point in having ads on a page like that.

No, I wouldn't do this. I've tried AdSense on an e-commerce site before, and while it did provide some revenue, there was also "sales leakage."

Are you selling something on your site? If yes, then no advertising.

Are you offering free content on your site? if yes, then advertising is ok.

Thats the formula which appears to work best for me.

If you add adsense, your potential customers may take it negative thinking "this website can't monetize with their own goods, hence the ads. Can I really trust them?"

Not a very good thought to get your customers, especially seeing how most people view online stores as "not very trust worthy" in the first place.

I would NOT do that on such a site.
You will take the risk of having potential customers leave your site. that's a big risk for just a few bucks a months you would make out of adsense

absolutally not.... never ever put adverts on an ecommerce site (with 1 small exception).

Why do you want to tell your customers to go else where (most likely to competitors) when they land on your site rather than buying from you????

If you predict that advertising revenue will outstrip sales profit then you have something seriously wrong with your business model and it either needs revisiting or possibly become an information site with advertising being the main source of income.

The one exception is if you have advertising exchange with a complimentary non-competitive company (eg a wedding dress company and wedding cake company advertising each others services) but even then it should be done with caution.

If you want to lead away your potential customers then by all means use adsense!
