Share of profit instead of share of sale?

Is it possible to set up an affiliate program that would share the profit of the sale instead of the entire selling price?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Hmm...there's got to be a program like that out there. Find some affiliate programs and E-mail the companies and ask them about it, they would know best!

    andrew,

i would go with the overall purchase price. I am planning to do something similar but when I was doing the numbers, it seemed ridiculous to only give them a percentage of the profits, especially if its the normal 10% range. that would mean unless your profit is really high, there is no incentive for the affiliate. also, this tells many of them what your profit is. that could sometimes be detrimental. at least thats what i think.

if you look at your numbers, you should be able to give them a percentage of the sale cost and still get a profit, if not, then there is something wrong with your pricing scheme.
