    Revenue Sharing Forums, Worth It?

I posted in my other topic that I have officially changed the idea of the CashTalkz site to a web forum. I have not came to a definite decision of the final topics and issues but once I do I will let everyone know.

I was planning up ways to promote and market the site and I thought what the hell, if DP can pull off Revenue Sharing then why can't I do it. So that's what I am going to do... the new CashTalkz forum will include revenue sharing and I wanted to know what everyone's thoughts were on the general idea of revenue sharing forums as a promotional method.

^^ Thank you for commenting, does anyone else care to speak on this issue. I have set it so that you need 50 posts before you can start earning in the Revenue Sharing. This'll weed out those who try to SPAM the forums or try and post just to get some AdSense change, yet their posts are no good.

what is the topic of the forum? I am starting a forum, but its for Christian Teens, not sure how revenue sharing would go on that.

    Hey Young Sparks.

Just one questions. What is revenue sharing and does it consist of?
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us."

No, I am using phpBB and I'll be adding modifications from time to time. NOW, on the issue of how I'll market it I plan to start off with basic's... revenue sharing AND contests... not to mention I'm going to implement "Money Earning" from the forums too. You'll see what I mean.

BTW... freedom.project ... the link richkid provided should be sufficient enough info.

Just read it. Great concept. It will help with creating a strong community of posters.

Would you ever consider using it to get started, and then once you get a strong community, take away the monetary possibilities?

If you did that, what would be the outcome? Would you lose users or would they continue posting because of the advice and opinions that they are getting from the forum?

Just curious on the different aspects of it.

I mean, in either way I'd probably keep it, even when it is large because my members would make up the community and what better way to reward them then to pay them for their time. Once it starts to grow, it'll be a bit more harder to earn money but by then I should hopefully have some other money making ideas so they can make money.

So to answer your question "would you take it away once your large enough?" The answer is No, I wouldn't. I'll still leave it on there so yeah, it should be quite an interesting task to see people start flowing into the forums and being rewarded.

sounds very interesting! I think revenue sharing is a really great idea. it gets committed members. There is a thread on DP asking how much everyone is making from the revenue sharing and there is some good money being made.

^^ Very true, I am contemplating some unique ways of making money and members make money too. Its all about giving back to the community and not spoiling myself so I plan to add in another feature. For every 20 posts a member makes they get an entry into a contest that'll be held quarterly. So if they post 200 times in a 3 month timespan, they get 10 entries into possibly winning a prize for that "Quarterly Contest."

The first one will be for $500 and will be awarded in mid-January, depending on when I release the site... see what I mean.

^^ Thanks for the link, I will keep it in mind. I still am working on the forum and look to release it somewhat within' the next 1-2 weeks.

By the way, I tried to view your "InterviewsWith.com" site but it will not let me register or anything to view.
