    Revenue Sharing

    Hey folks,

I'm interested in setting up some kind of revenue sharing program and I'm trying to understand how it works.

As I understand it works something like this:

    i. Website A advertises my service on their site.
ii. Client comes from their site to my site.
    iii. Client converts.
iv. Website A is paid a commission.

    Now here's my questions:

How do you prove that they brought you in, say, 10 conversions? I mean, do I just give them a call at the end of the month and say 'Hey thanks, you brought me 10 conversions, I'm sending you a check for $50.'

Seems like there's lot's of room for people to scam and not come clean with the number of conversions. Not that I would, but how do you go about creating that trust with someone you've never met?

    Hope that makes sense.

Well, i think if you don't have an official system to track them like websites like ebates do, then i suggest you let your customers do a bit of work.

As for me on my site, I require visitors to print screen the page after their purchase, and on my side, I'll see if the affiliate program tracks anyone purchasing.. If it matches, then I'll pass the savings to visitors. This is provided that they also email me the printed screen and also the payment method of their choice.
