Question Question about search engine ranking

I have been looking around young entrepreneur forums/blogs and a lot of guys are making money off of ads on their websites. I decided to try the same and have a "noob" question:

I am thinking of putting up a number of review websites - I thought it would be easy to write about something you own. I am planning to put up reviews on my LG Fusic phone (very popular, lots of searches), my dads BMW X5, etc...

I probably will not sell ad space on these type of pages due to limited traffic/extent of the pages, but I will go for adSense.

My question is whether I have to constantly update the content on the site to keep it high on search engines, or will the rank not slide down if I don't update the text?

    Any feedback is appreciated!

Fresh content is a top priority with keeping high rankings on a website. Chances are, your one article on one item won't rank high for that keyword for very long, so the only way to get consistent traffic is fresh content that brings new backlinks

The answer is yes, and really...stop it before it gets worse

Do not start advertising funded ventures, full stop

Cracksense publishers are a very malnourished bunch

You are looking at people's earnings in absolute terms rather than a per hour result

The hourly rate for cracksense publishers is negligible (save for a few successful sites)

And anyway, you have a completely backward way of thinking about new ventures

The entrepreneurial process starts with you asking about what other people need rather than "I am thinking of putting up a number of review websites". Your whole post is just a collection of "I this and I that". You refer to your own needs at least 5 times before you even get to the question. You have no mention of people's needs, let alone creating an inimitable substitute product without substitutes.

dude, save your self the headache. don't do these sites, it's not worth it.

    Hi,

Yes, you will need to update your website, but also keep in mind that getting other sites to link to yours is important. Here is a simple way to get some inbound links to your site. Go to google.com and search for some article sites. Write an article and submit that article to as many sites as you can. Add a link back to your site with your keywords in the anchor text. This is also known as offpage optimization.

Having inbound links shows the importance of your page.
