    PerfectHomepage.co.uk

I have just created a new site.

    http://www.perfecthomepage.co.uk

This site is affiliate based as I get a cut from all the businesses when people buy goods.

If you create your own homepage (for free and takes less than one minute), and then refer your friends, any profit I make fom your friends is shared equally with you!

Let me know what you think of the site.
    Thanks,

Your site looks an awful lot like the sites that your site makes, I think it is one of those sites made by a site made by a site made by a site (and so on) chains that only have search engines which people can easily find themselves.

    What do you mean?

Yes I understand that anyone knows they can go to ebay or google by typing it in their browser, but are you saying that it isn't useful having all the search engines and personalised links and news available anywhere in the world at the click of a single button?

Now if it was Web 2.0-esque and search all of the searches with one term, results on screen, and I hide the results I don't want to see (perhaps I don't want to see news) then I think it would be really useful!

But I don't really understand what is new about this...and if your website already does this...why would you want other people to use your service to effectively make clones of your site? It's nonsense.

You completely ripped off the logo of http://share2net.com/. Don't be a hack, do your own shit.

I was going to jump in and defend him because the four corner red, yellow, blue and green configuration is quite common. but after comparing the two they do look very similar, square baseset, identical colour configuration, inner circle overset, white inner parallel symbol, both have an outerglow effect.

Whether it was a subconcious copy or an intentional one, I would still recommend you come up with something new.

    Wow... a lot of repsonses...

Let me get through them one by one...

    1. Concerning Web 2.0, I am in the process of understanding the API's availabl and hope to implement them some time soon.

    2. The logo. After looking at the site I admit that the logos are very similar however not identical. It is not uncommon to have similar logos especially nowadays when you are given so much clipart at your disposal.

    3. Admittedly this was originally though up as a way to have all my search engines, links, news, tv guides etc available to myself and my family wherever we were in the world and also provide a service to anyone else that wanted to use it...

This doesn't really generate any form of revenue but provides a free service.

I encourage people to duplicate the site by creating their own http://www.perfecthomepage.co.uk/create

Let me know what else you don't understand.

Not really sure it's a case of understanding it, just trying to identify its use.
