Not for Profit website - Profits from advertising

Hello, I was just wondering how a a not for profit website service would do profit wise from advertising? How do you go about getting advertising on your website for profits? How popular does your site have to be? I'm a young entrepreneur with these questions that I'm hoping some of you can answer. Thanks!!

With out knowing the site, its hard to give specific examples..
but you could advertise affiliate products that relate to you site

or join up as an affiliate with amazon and ebay and post products
up on your site...when ppl click on them and buy from thoee sites
you get a protino of the profits. You could also seek out competitors
or other business in your niche and offer advertising space... only
downside with that is they will want to see high traffic (something
to show their spending advertising money on a worthwhile site)

Uh, I might be wrong, but if you're looking to make a profit, you might be better off looking into FOR profit ventures. Personally, it looks shady as hell that you're trying to find out how you can exploit not-for-profits for personal gain. But more power to you.
