    MySpace + CommissionJunction

I originally thought of this concept a while back and then when I realized a lot of people begin to ask the same question, I thought it'd be interesting to ask.

I have a CommissionJunction.com account and a MySpace.com account. I was wondering though, what does everyone think of the idea of promoting CJ items on their MySpace. Assume you generate a MySpace account with more then 25k+ friends, and then post like 2-3 bulletins a day or 2-3 bulletins a week. That can generate some money.

True it degrades the quality of MySpace but what the hell, MySpace is becoming a SPAM hole anyway. Don't take me as a spammer, but was wondering opinions on the concept.

Myspace has a big SPAM problem at the moment and if the CJ URL hasn't been blocked already I'll give you a month at the most.

Saying that if your just using Text links and not banners then you could be fine.

I know that it's against the TOS but I'd be willing to bet that you could get away with it for a little while. I'm not sure whether Myspace blocks your IP or just closes down the account?

Myspace just usually deletes you. They don't need to IP block, because it took you forever to get to 25k friends so if you did, and got deleted. It'd basically slaughter all your work.

not to mention one of your 25,000 friends would flag the bulletin, and you'll be a goner.

^^ But its always worth a try. Although it is possibly against the terms (the terms specifically say NO affiliate links) -- but I think this is just a term that is to make it so that only MySpace will get paid by using their affiliate banners that show up all over the damn site... crazy!

as many affiliate links i seen on people's myspace profile and groups i doubt they would delete you and if they did it would only be a deleted profile. Also if you posted a few comments on people's profile with ur links u would still be getting clicks even though ur profile was deleted. There are quite a few loop holes when it comes to affiliate advertising on myspace.
Myspace doesn't need anymore money they do need to fix all the bugs the site has though.

If you make your ad in a picture file, you can run it thru the slide show feature and they wont catch it. unless its pointed out to them.

Work Around Trick: Here is a trick that I was thinking. The site specifically says "no affiliate links." I am understanding that this means no affiliate links right on the page... but here is my thought.

When you want to add a affiliate link to your MySpace page, create a blank HTML website and upload it to your hosting server... in the HTML file, add an addition that allows re-direction to the affiliate link. They won't be able to catch it, if they do, it'd be a specific luck they find it.
