    More reasons against Adsense :(

    Read this: http://www.stromcode.com/modules.php...rder=0&thold=0

... very interesting, doesn't give much hope for the many people (me kind of included) who think they'll just create an awesome site, slap some adsense on there, build up traffic and watch the dollars fly in.

Anyone had good successes with adsense yet? ... or is it just the thing we read about?

    cheers

i was thinking of making a few sites and slapping on adsense but after reading this is does dent our hopes. I think the best way to get money from cash from a website is by using overture or something like adbrite.

Adsense is shit in my opinion, I am taking it off my site. I have clicked on my ads and all my friends have too just to test the system...and I have earned a whopping $0!

I e-mailed them and they have not replied.

I think adbrite is 10x better. They have good customer service and I have actually made money from them, even if it is only a couple of $.
    Kind Regards,

    Khalid.

LMAO - of course you earned nothing - they know you're scamming them. Be a professional and do it right, and they'll pay you in return.

Khalidwa that s not the way that adsense will pay you, lol.
You canīt click on your own ads or tell your friends to do that
You have to do it in the right way.

That guys says he gets most of his traffic from Myspace. That kind of traffic isn't very good. And image hosting site ads don't pay much and the hosting fees are really high. With AdSense you also need volume. One site isn't going to do it, you need to have as many sites as possible. One hundred sites making $1 a day is better than one making $100 a day.

It really depends on what type of site you have regarding what you can make off adsense. Also adbrite is only great for site with 5, 6, and 7 digit pageviews everyday. If you get just a couple hundred or thousand page views a day you might not make as much with adbrite.

hmm, I don't get that statement. As the way I see those niche sites, they still require a lot of work to stay in the top ranking sites in the search engines. So that basically means you need to continue writing regular content.

I would rather focus my efforts on a single site, build it up to a level such as that where it's making $100 a day, and then use those funds to reinvest into another site idea.

But seriously, I would be very keen to know what kind of sites and what percentage of the site population using adsense are making money.

From my blog, I've only made a total of $128 ($100 of which was from a referral). But I'd say for the content I write (random stuff) and because the site still needs some finishing work, I think it's an OK figure. At least it paid for the domain

    cheers

With more sites you have more stability. It is unlikely that one thing can take down every single site that you have. And it doesn't take a lot of work to stay on top of the rankings once you get there. You just need to make sure that no one is trying to knock you off every once in a while. One site making $100 is going to take a lot of work to maintain, so I would take the 100 smaller sites that require almost no work after launch.

I dislike adsense too. I say we form an ad clicking rotation and switch off clicking on each others ads.

    I think I'd still prefer maybe 3 sites making $30 a day

Sounds good as long as we could stay under the Google radar.
