I think its worth it, its not like its all or nothing.

You can integrate it in your site and still sell products, text links, have aff links etc.

Worth signing up and placing ads that cost you zero dollars to run?...I'd say it's worth it.

adsense is deffinately not free!!! its quite expensive, unless you develop a website which converts well

you should try it out for a month, and work out your ROI, see if its still worth it.

the best, albeit the slowest method is SEO!

I dont know which version of adsense you have or think you have. But adsense is free to use, it costs zero dollars to download and to have on your website. You dont buy anything. Quite expensive is pure blasphemy when talking about adsense. I have it on a few sites that I dont update anymore which get minimal traffic, costs me nothing. I also have it on my PR4 site which gets thousands of hits a week...still costs me nothing.

Yeah, I think he was talking about Adwords, advertising and not publishing ads.

Anyways, yes, Adsense has been extremely successful to certain webmasters, earning hundreds to thousands of dollars a month, or even daily.

However I would not recommend placing ads on eCommerce websites. Because:

    1) It will place the most relavant ads concurrent to the content of your site, meaning your direct competitors.

    2) It makes your site look very unprofessional. (eCommerce)

    3) Makes your site appear NOT to be successful because of trying to gain a penny here and a penny there through ads. Especially towards experienced web browsers.

Adsense is the bottom rung of monetizing online.

But if you have a LOT of traffic (and I mean a LOT) or medium traffic on high paying keywords you can make a pretty decent income.

I'd rather sell my own products than direct potential customers to other people's sites for pennies.
