I believe that most of them require you to be at least 18 years of age to recieve payments.

Nah i don't think you have to be 18!

As long as you pay taxes on it it shouldnt matter. They might have a 13+ or even a 18+ policy, i would say you were 18 if you need to be.

My suggestion would be to discuss with a business counselor at the SCORE or SBA office in your region. There are varying rules, preferred by the entity you are dealing with, regardning what age you can be to interact with them. It is like anything, you can work at 14 but you aren't legal till 18. So, I would talk to someone who can address the issue and give you well backed information.

    Best

I did an affiliate site when I was 15. I registered the accounts under my parent's name. You cannot lie about your age because they will need your social security number for taxes.

I think you'll probably find that many of the online financial management organisations - like PayPal for instance - require some sort of proof that you are financially viable, and will often ask for your credit or debit card details to do this.

This means you may find that even if you're old enough to use their services, if you're not old enough to have a card you won't be able to make full use of them.

How about going into business with an older friend, cousin or sibling? Just make sure it's someone that you can trust completely and draw up a simple contract to say who does what and how you're going to split the profits.

That's a rule that always applies when choosing a business partner no matter what age you are!

    Good luck!
Wishing you great success in your business,

    Andrea
