    Help with promoting to affiliates

    Hi everybody,

I'm new to these forums and also new to online product marketing. In the past I've been an affiliate for other people's products but now I've got my own product to promote and I'm struggling to get sales.

What I'm selling is online training for people looking for jobs. It takes them through how to create a CV (resume), how to search for jobs and how to be good in interviews. I know there are a few good products out there that cover these areas, but we hope that the difference with ours is the documentary-style video which shows people going through the same job search process as the user.

I would hope in this current time it would be a relatively easy thing to sell.

It's been on the market for just over a week now and we've made a couple of sales via amazon but nothing for online. I've currently only got it active on click2sell, and I've only had 3 affiliate sign ups. I would have hoped for a few more within a week, but am I being too optimistic? Commission is also set quite high at 33%, so I would hope that would bring a few more in.

Also should I be putting it on other affiliate marketplaces? Have you got any tips on where else I could be promoting this?

I am certainly a bit of a noob and appreciate any advice offered.

Anyway the website is job-kit.co.uk if you would like to see it for yourself.

    Thanks,

    Peckinpah

    Hey
Have you tried pay per click? Facebook advertising? Using Seesmic to get you message out in video form? Viddler is also a great place to launch a video about your product.

If you put together a short video or message explaining your product and put it on these sites you should get more of a response. Try tubemogul for launching all of your videos to the best sites it takes the guess work out of uploading them and launching them yourself.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. I've currently got both Facebook ads and Google ad campaigns running, and I'm getting about 60 people through to the site each day now.

I think your advice around the video is great, and as it happens I already have one ready to go. I'd never heard of Tubemogul but it looks like a good way of spreading your video without the pain.

    Thanks.
