Five Ways To Kill Your Affiliate Commissions

If you are one of the 80 percent who are not happy with your affiliate commissions perhaps you are guilty of making one or all of the five most common mistakes.

The good news is that you can change this.

    1. Choosing The Wrong Affiliate Program.
To be able to promote any product effectively you must be familar with it and be prepared to become an expert on it. This means buying the product, using it and being able to give an honest testimonial for it. Your readers can soon tell whether you are a genuine user or someone just wanting to earn quick money. Choosing affilaite programs based on your possible affiliate earinings very seldom gives you the return you expect.

    2.Not cloaking your Affiliate Links.
There are 2 reasons to cloak your affiliate links. One reason is unscrupulous visitors will try and steal your affiliate links. And the second reason is many visitors will not view your page if they think it is an affilaite link.

    3.Not capturing Your Leads.
It is important to build up your own list. The way to do this is to create an opt-in page before sending them to your affiliate link. You can then start to create a relationship based on you offering them genuine advice regarding your niche market. It is only then that they will start to take your recommendations and be happy to purchase from you.

    4.Not Advertising.
Setting up a fabulous webpage with every feature does not equal sales. People must visit your webpage. They will only do this if you advertise. There are many ways of advertising depending on your budget. Pay-per-click can be very expensive. Joining and taking part in forums, although time consuming, is free. You can also try advertising in ezines related to your niche.

    5.Failure to Evolve.
The internet is constantly evolving and ways to market successfully are changing as well. You must always be prepared to study the latest trends and keep up with what is happening. The inability to do this means you will be left behind and your sales will drop off accordingly.

Knowing what could be stopping your success is half the solution. It is now up to you to take action. We wish every success in your Affiliate Marketing career.

Any suggestions on how to cloak your affiliate links? This may be something simple that I am just out of the loop on.
Check out my Myspace Site and invite me to be your friend.

TreasureTrooper.com for a great affiliate/offers site that pays $15-30 per hour.

Need an Experienced Ebay Seller to sell your goods??? PM me for Prices.

For those interested, I found a program on Download.com that is free and will cloak your links. It will shield your links, but I can't figure out how to have them replaced the links with others to make them look legit.

    Any suggestions?

wow, i never thought of hiding/cloaking affiliate links.

but let me ask...if i have an affiliate link on our site - how does one "steal" the affiliate link? i mean, how do they make a referral code their own, when it is already yours?

    uuummm....huuhh...

I was also wondering how it works with stealing affiliate links. How do you hide or cloak your affiliate links convincingly?
