I'm very curious how others go about recruiting Affiliates. We have a pretty slick process where we make personalized approaches to hand selected sites and do a total of 3 follow-ups before putting them on a nuture track. We used a customized GoldMine contact manager to manage this.
For a number of our "Piggy Bank Websites" we've recruited a healthy Affiliate team and they account for anywhere from 10% to 50% of our traffic and sales. I think part of the recruiting process is having a product that they can easily sell and offering a healthy commission.
While our approach works very well for us, it's not very "average joe" friendly.
