    Affiliate blogs

Do blogs that drive people to your affiliate link work? Like, one blog constructed that talks about one site, and the visitors are driven to signup through you. Or would SEO skills be needed in order to make any money?

Depends how good your blog is. Some people use blogs for landing pages from PPC campaigns which reduces the cost of the clicks as it is relevant content.

If you have a movie blog and you review the latest DVD's with a link to Amazon in your blog chances are someone wanting to buy the movie could click on that link to purchase. It is an art to get it right.

I say its more like trying to create the ad and affiliate more into your site, not just puttin up a copy paste code on your page and wait for a click - I say its more of trying to merge affiliate with content

Making money - I mean serious money - IS a lot of hard work!

I don't understand how people seem to think that they just buy the latest e-book on internet marketing, set up a couple of PPC campaigns and WOW! - Look ma, I'm a freakin' zillionaire!

Yes, running a blog is hard work (if you put your all into it). Yes, researching niche markets does take time and effort. Yes, setting up landing pages is work. Yes, writing 10 articles a day promoting your sites/products is hard work.

Affiliate marketing is a business. Business is hard work. But it's great work, rewarding work, and you are your own boss. Granted, there are a lot of (too many!) people who prey on the types of people who want 'an easy ride' and who buy into the whole 'learn how I made $1million by doing nothing more taxing than scratching my arse' scams!

Most people when they buy these books (even, in my opinion, the kosher ones like WLM), they don't actually spend the time putting these techniques into practice. Follow the advice in this book and spend time learning and doing and I guarantee you will make money.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. Been a bad day at the office.

    cheers.
    Nick

NMB, I agree businesses are a lot of work. I guess for me, coming up with something to say every day or however often you blog is more work than it's worth. Has anyone here had success in making money from their blogs?

The effort to start a blog, and place affiliate links is nothing...to maintain the blog, then that's a big effort...

Precisely. Especially as opposed to building a website, then you're done, and the only thing you do is advertise and do some slight changes for better SEO placement.

While it is true that creating a successful site is hard work, every element there is to it can be outsourced.

Do it for yourself for a while so you can learn the ropes and get familiar with the strategy and what works and what doesn't.

From there, you can outsource everything from research, to content creation, graphic design, etc.. You just have to know what direction to point.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.
