    Question Advertising Revenues

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has any ideas for advertising. The site is www.getmybooks.com , a website for college and university students to avoid paying high publisher fees for their textbooks and is kinda like an eBay for textbooks. As a college student myself (taking the Computer Systems Technician course @ Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario myself).

Right now, I'm using the same Google AdSense service that I use for my StudentProgress.Info website, but I'm wondering if there's a better advertising service to help offset my costs. Right now, users only pay to post a book on the system and not to buy.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mattdean,

Just curious, what do you do for postage? Its just that books being heavy, I wouldnt want to pay $5 for a $20 book.

On advertising, what about directly posting sheets or bulletin boards at colleges/schools?

    Pay Per Lead

    Matt,
I was looking over your website and I feel a pay per click affiliate campaign would do your site well. It would cost you a little money to get it setup but the results could be outstanding.

Instead of a traditional pay per sale campaign, a pay per click would reward the affiliates for clicks, bringing to your site good targeted traffic. Thats what I would do. good luck to you.

LucasK: The site is designed to basically be a kind of eBay for textbooks, I don't sell the books myself, it's a site to allow students to sell their books to other students at a reduced rate. In addition, we're starting to post advertisements at my college (Georgian College, Barrie ON).

expisp: Thanks for the suggestion. We'll take it into serious consideration.
