You're better off going with the content ads IMO.
I don't like adsense for search cause just give verry small earning.
I used to use Adsense for Search but found it just wasn't performing. I earn alot more per click with link units in place of the search box.
I just signed up for Adsense today so I'll let you know soon.

I had heard on some websites it gets a very high CTR and higher earnings then on content ad's. What do you guys get per click on average?

Adsense for search actually worked better for me on one site than content ads did. The site however was a "FAQ" section on an informative page so if the visitors weren't able to get there questions answered on the page they could just "google" it. It didn't make as much per click but the volume was definitely there.

Adsense doesn't like ppl sharing such exact info. I can say however that I can make $0-$3/day on uploadFX and the.ad.blog combined.Originally Posted by adrizzle
People have mixed results with adsense for search.
If you just plonk the search feature on every page then you arent going to have any success with it.
But if you implement it properly (i.e: at the bottom of FAQ pages, on information pages where they may want to search for more info after reading) then you can have success with it.
I have found that it pays me a lot better than normal content ads. It just depends what the person looks for.
I woudl test it out and see how you go!
I may ad this search to my FAQ page - I'll let you know how it turns out.
