I gross about $80k a day in revenue and average about 40%-50% in profit so roughly $32k to $40k per day across 5 different networks. That equates to roughly around a million per month in profit. I've also been in the industry a lot longer than you though so you're on the right track.

I have found it to be a good practice to call into question claims of success coming from those who have a vested interest in your beliefs (and clicks). I'm not saying MLM is wrong at all; rather, I'm saying "be aware".

I spent a lot of time building my income to that point. Its not something a quick talk will help you out with much. In short, you're buying traffic and earning higher commissions than the traffic you're paying for and the difference is your profit margin. It requires a lot of time, research, testing, etc... to scale your income to that point.

Shaggy, I considered this. What's it called, click arbitrage? I heard G is cracking down on this. However, I'm sure there are ways around it, or ways that are more subtle. Also, perhaps I'm wrong - are you hinting at something else?

Something else. Click arbitrage isn't a sustainable business especially with Google. And since the days of open Yahoo Publisher, those are no longer viable. But its similar in a sense. You're still buying traffic, but instead of driving traffic to sites with ads on it, you're buying traffic to send to products and services for existing vendors to collect commissions on sales and leads generated, essentially the core business of what affiliate marketing is.

I have also been looking into affiliate marketing....is it better to have a content website or a purely product based website?

I will be researching this in the next few days.

I'm new to affiliate marketing.

If I advertise my link through Facebook, can I link the ad directly to my tracking link, or do I need to link it to a landing page on my website, on which the tracking link resides? Does the tracking link work by detecting the referrer page (in which case I should place the tracking link on my website), or is my affiliate ID embedded in the tracking link itself?

Question: I have a space inside a local college with a computer kiosk. I was wondering if CPA Networks would let me create a website with CPA ads where college students could sign up for these ads that are related to college students. I know most all CPA/Affiliate networks require users to have different IP addresses to help lower fraud, but since I will always have someone there to keep their eye on things I can make sure that everything is legit and highly focused. If anyone has any info for me on this go ahead and PM me. I am really wanting to get this started as I think it should do really well.

(I posted a thread for this topic)
