**A recent Forrester Research reports estimates that 55% of online marketers have affiliate programs, a number topped only by the 71% who use e-mail marketing and 62% who use paid search. 99% of those using affiliate programs rate them as effective.

***As is frequently the case with affiliate programs, about 10% of the affiliates generate 90% of the program’s sales. The program as a whole contributes 10% to 20% of total online sales and is a key part of the engine responsible for driving growth. Some pure online retailers derive the bulk of their business through affiliates.
