I'm going to say this, and these guys will slam me for it, but to get going, it helps. Get your banner exchane somewhere like www.linkbuddies.com or something. click4click.com, there are tons. Then spend about $100 at trafficexcess.com or one of those sites. You'll get 250-300 thousand popunders. The thing is, the traffic with a site like yours will actually probably get you some members. Secondly, it will get you 175,000 more banner impressions on your exchange network. This site ought to be able to get about a 1:300 clickthrough ratio, if you marekt it with a decent ad, so that'd be five or six hundred more visits. 1500 clickthroughs for 100 bucks is just about unheard of. Then you have people who go past your front page and that's even more. For content sites like yours, this should pay off.

BTW, throw me a banner (468x60 with a 1px black border) I'll throw it up on http://friends.snoppler.com for ya. Not much traffic yet, but the site's not up yet. When I move it to a new box it will be advertised.

Oh Yes, I totally agree but unfortunately I need to consider search engines before I consider people. Thus, the site is there - completly undeveloped purely so the search egines can see it. You clicked on it which is what I need you to do. Hopefully within the week, the content will be there, but i know exactly what u r saying. Thing is it takes so long to get search engine kudos, that i have to start that as soon as my domain exists. I know that this is crap in terms of users but as said, i should have my site up and runnning professionally within a week. Thanks for the 'heads up' though.
