Here i see everyone talking about where you can get affilates.....well i want to start my own one, i know there tough competition with CJ and Tradedoubler naming the biggest players. well i've actually got a .com name that could be better than both of them and i reckon a good bussiness is based on a good name and motto.....though some might disagree....my question is where can i get software/script to start my affilate site off?

I'm not familiar with the sites you mention above, so I don't know where you could get software that does a similar thing, but what I will say is that if you plan to go up against the establishment you need to have something that they don't. Using standard software won't give you that edge.

In my opinion the only way to get ahead here would be to have a custom built application that would allow you the flexibility to expand and to change as the market does.

If you've got the name, the ideas and the management experience then it would be worth you finding a talented programmer looking for an opportunity who could team up with you on this.

There is easy-to-use affiliate program software available from Corey Rudl, who created it to run the affiliate program that made him almost $7 million dollars last year. It's calle AssocTRAC and they just released a new version (2.5). He spent about $250,000 developing it, but it's very affordable (a few hundred dollars).
