Has anyone tried increasing their sales by affiliating?

Any of you guys have experience with increasing your sales by affiliating?
How did it go?

-What programs have you used?
-What affiliation websites do you recommend?
-Have you contacted websites and just asked if they wanted to affiliate with your product? Does this work?

Any input is appreciated

I tried something with our Web hosting about a year ago (a little more than that, actually). It didn't work too well, but it was probably because we were trying to manage the affiliate program ourselves. It is definitely something we'll look into again in the future, but right now we are too busy.

Do you use a site/program to automate the process for you? If so, does it handle offline sales by affiliates?

Max Bounty is a great affiliate place to get offers, they have 100's of them. They have some of the highest payout for the offers. Just check them out.

Can I ask what your product is? It actually makes a difference when formulating a decent response.

i think the best thing you can do is make your own program up and add your own affiliate program. Yes it might take a bit of time. But i have done well with this.

I hate when people email me and tell me that their affiliate program is crud. It just means they are not doing things right. There is nothing like having an affiliate program....build up a list then join other affiliate programs.

how can you beat other people doing the hard work for you (e.g. bringing traffic to your site) as you sit back watch the sales come in and collect a split profit.

i personally love this. So you need to go out and spend the time on your own program first. Set it up . set up an affiliate program along side it. Once you have this down packed go and find affilate programs to join and advertise them to your list. then buy me a beer when your on way to making your second million.

Thumbs up I beleive affiliate programs work and I can prove it....

Affiliate programs definately work. I know because I am and affiliate and I paid to become one. Now you may smile at that but It does answer your question.....do affilaite programs work.

However, to work well the affiliate program has got to be top noch! If you want ideas of how an affiliate program should be set up have a look at my site eggvault.com and the 1st promotion set up. The guys at 1st promotion really have got their affiliate program set up the right way....you could learn a lot from these guys! Im an affiliate at the moment but I will be setting up my own products etc and affiliate programs by following in the footsteps of these proven experts.......

yes go away and study someone who has been successful and find out how and why.

but most of all the better your product the better stronger your affiliate program will end up.

Cheers.
