I havent done much advertising, but from my experience, I have learned that targeting is absolutely everything. The more targeted the ad space is, the better results you will see, however unfortunately you will most likely have to pay more.

Good programs for targetted campaigns are:
adwords.google.com
and
www.overture.com

I have not had good luck with affiliate programs unless it's a perfect match like a hosting company and design. Other wise they have not worked for me. Exchaning links sometimes works, but not normally.

Hi all,

I'm not a big-time affiliate marketer. I do some, but mostly invest in developing my own products. However, I know of a LOT of folks (many of them I know personally) who do phenomenally well with affiliate programs. One woman consistently pulls in $30,000-50,000 in the only dating niche. One awesome, well-respected marketer brings in an average of $5,000 per email promo for affiliate products - and that doesn't include the affiliate incomes with sites he markets via PPCs and AdWords.

Another friend of mine has brought in as much as $100,000 in a month through affiliate revenue. He gets a 7% conversion rate with one particular product - though I don't know the regular, "cold prospect" CR, 7% is outstanding - because of the genius method he uses to presell prospects. Best of all, his entire system is automated.

Always remember that, if you're promoting a great product that generally sells well, you have direct control over the average conversion rate you achieve.

So yep, affiliate marketing is giving some people very, very extraordinary lifestyles. Your success as an affiliate depends on one factor: YOU.

God bless,
Rebekah :)

Yeah 100K a month, that's very good. I would be happy with that any day and I'm sure most people here would. Obviously he cannot generate that type of income every month though, but still every other month is pretty good.

GeekTalk probably is the forum I know of that has the most members making decent money from affiliate advertising:

That forum is quite strictly moderated so be sure to read the rules before making any posts.
