the first choice would be google if you are to market your site . but if you want promote you item sales .it is better that you use adsense.coz when the potential buyer search the key words , he get the chance to find you

Cheapest way is classified ads, since they are free. Post your items there with a link to your product. You can try webcosmo.com and others for that.

You can also use pay per click advertising like Google AdWords etc. But if not done right, you may loose money.

It totally depends on what you are selling and how much you are will ing to put aside for advertising. Google ADwords is a great way to advertise but can get pricy if you are a startup. However the best ways to get noticed are also the priciest. The better you advertise the more profit comes in.
