What Shopping Cart to Use?

Hello,

I am about to open an online clothing store and am looking for a shopping cart package that I can use with my website that is best suited for me.

My site will start off with only 6 products and continually grow. I will not have more than 25 products in the first year. I am not sure what extras I will need or anything, I am kinda web illiterate. Anyways, you guys could give me some insight on this matter and maybe some prices that would be great.

Thanks,

Casey

if you tell me your html or programming skills, and your budget I can point you to a good shopping cart that would suit your business.

Re: What Shopping Cart to Use?

OScommerce could be a good one to use... for a transaction processing 2checkout is a good one for businesses in canada... inexpensive and it works well. Cheers

I heard osCommerce is releasing a new milestone pretty soon - I have a feeling it's going to be really great.

I wouldn't recommend oscommerce for this, but I would recommend mals ecommerce. http://mals-e.com I did my own store in oscommerce, and it is very robust and meant to handle a lot of products. For only 6-25 products you would want to do a lot of modification to make oscommerce look like it was meant for 6 products. modifying oscommerce is very difficult because of it's complexity. I also have experience (for doing a smaller shirt store) with mals-e.com and loved it. I've been doing some freelance work lately for buddies so let me know if you need some work done.

oscommerce is a great free one, but an even better cart is Zencart. It is an open source php script based on OScommerce. Take an already free software and turn it into another free one, they must be really good to be successful. So give Zencart a try!
